ADOPTIVE FAMILY PROFILE
Rob and Amy are an attractive college educated couple in their mid-30's who have selected to establish their home in a small community outside of the larger metropolitan area where both work.

The town they chose has an excellent school system and offers a community of involved citizens who want the town to be a safe and interesting place in which to raise a family.

Rob and Amy's traditional Cape-Cod home, on a tree-lined street of historic homes, is tastefully furnished and reflects their hobbies and interests. Amy enjoys needlework crafts such as quilting, and Rob has a keen eye for art and sculpture. He is also an excellent cook who actually volunteers to make meals!

Rob and Amy met in 1992 at the church both were attending, and are graduates of the same university. Rob was very involved in music during college, both choir and instrumental, but chose teaching as his profession. He teaches math at a private high school and enjoys working with teenagers.

Amy is doing very well in the marketing field and recently was offered a big promotion by a private firm after working in public relations for a private college in Michigan.

Rob and Amy have been married for five years, and both express real happiness and satisfaction in their relationship. Their ideas about family values and child rearing are compatible, and both feel very ready and eager to become parents. They believe a child should have the benefit of at least one parent at home full-time during the early bonding years. Both are fortunate to have been raised by loving families with parents who have been married for many years and are supportive of their children. Amy was married once before meeting Rob to a man several years older than she who nevertheless was not ready for the responsibilities of marriage. After her divorce, she knew exactly what she did and didn't want in a husband and is happy that Rob is the one who came into her life.

Rob and Amy really enjoy their time together while also appreciating their different interests. Rob recently biked across lower Michigan with a biking club which Amy didn't join.

They combine their interests during vacations trips by visiting historic sites like Williamsburg while also attending cooking seminars.

Visiting family is always a priority and they recently traveled to California to visit one of Amy's sisters who is an actress there. Amy's family has always been involved in community theater and acting was a natural step for her sister.

Rob had the benefit of a small-town up bringing but later attended a consolidated high school and large university.

References for Amy and Rob were exceptional in their absolute support and confidence in Rob and Amy as potential adoptive parents. They all highly recommended them and seemed just as hopeful and excited as Rob and Amy that an opportunity to adopt a child would soon happen for them.
